It establishes a connection between the Elbe at kilometer 343.59 and the Elbe Havel Canal at km 325.95 near the village of Niegripp and is 1.56 kilometers [2] long. The canal has a lock shortly before the Elbe. The Magdeburg Wasserstrasse and Shipping Office is responsible for the administration.
