St.-Andres , Hungarian Saintandrise ) is a municipality in the district of Timi\u0219, in the Banat region, in the southwest of Romania. The place is also among the German names Sanctandreas or. St.-Andreas known. S\u00e2nandrei is located 12 km north of the district capital Timi\u0219oara (Temeswar) , has a connection to the National Road DN 69, 4 km further south via the DJ 692 district road and is located on the Timi\u0219oara – Arad. S\u00e2nandrei is one of the oldest towns in the Timi\u0219 district. The place was first written in 1230 under the designation St. Andrea mentioned, archaeological finds testify to the existence of a settlement during the Neolithic period. In 1748 the first Germans were settled here, built in 1762 the Roman Catholic Church, which in 1811 received its current form after some conversions.
