this is a List of reigning boxing world champion of the world associations World Boxing Association (WBA), World Boxing Council (WBC), International Boxing Federation (IBF), World Boxing Organization (WBO) (the four best -known and most important world associations) and the oldest and most important box magazine The Ring. The linear and interim world champions are not listed.

Under certain conditions, the WBA association awards several world championship titles: If a WBA world champion unites his title with the title of one of the associations WBC, IBF or WBO, it is declared a “unified champion” and the “regular”, then subordinate world championship title, is re -awarded. But there are also exceptions, the “super champions” of the WBA that have no other title. Through longer periods between the compulsory defenses, the world champion gives the opportunity to box the compulsory challengers of the other associations. The frequently used term “undisputed champion” (“undisputed”) leads to confusion, since in general language use does not mean the extremely controversial policy of the WBA, but simply the linear world champion or the best boxer in his weight class. Both the status of the Unified and that of the super champion of the WBA is lined up higher than that of the regular. Therefore, the regular WBA world champion, if there is a unified or super champion at the same time, is not the “actual” world champion.
