Peppermint Anime is a German publisher of anime series and films. It has its headquarters in Munich. Anime on DVD, Blu-ray Disc or as video-on-demand on the streaming platforms Wakanim, Netflix and Animax on Demand are sold. Peppermint Anime also shows some anime films before a disc publication in selected cinemas, both with German synchronization and in the original sound with German subtitles.

Peppermint Anime was created in 2012 as a label of the Peppermint Enterprises Ltd. & Co. KG . [first] In 2013, Peppermint Anime started the first simulcast of a German anime publishers on the Vimeo platform with the Anime series Valvrave the Liberator. In the following years, further simulcasts followed at MyVideo. Peppermint Enterprises divided the label as a company in 2015, so it was created Peppermint Anime GmbH As a joint venture between the Peppermint Enterprises and Aniplex. Since Akibapass also had the title of other publisher and the licenses had to be negotiated, the money of the bought VoD titles was reimbursed to the users. Peppermint Anime has been organizing that every year since 2015 AkibaPass Festival , that in January (or 2022 in February [6] ) toured by cinemas in major German cities and Vienna. [7] Until the renaming in 2017, the event was still under the name Peppermint Anime Festival known. [8] In addition to Peppermint anime, other publishers also show, such as: B. Universe Anime Films at the Festival. [9] In 2018, 14 films, including numerous Germany and Austria premieres, were presented in 10 cities.
