Stephan Hairing OSB (* If Bernhard Haing on September 15, 1959 in Grafenau; † November 18, 2020 in Munich [first] [2] ) was a German priest, Catholic theologian and canon lawyer.

Bernhard Haering joined the Benedictine Abbey of St. Michael in Metten after graduating from high school in 1978. In 1979 he took a profession and received the order name there Stephan . After studying theology, he received consecration in 1984. Stephan Haering also studied history and German studies as well as canonical law at the universities in Salzburg, Munich and Washington. He became in 1987 in Salzburg Dr. Dr. aol. did her doctorate and 1996 in Munich to Dr. Disp. CAN. habilitated.

From 1997 to 2001 he was a full university professor for canon law at the Julius Maximilians University in Würzburg, then owner of the chair for canon law, in particular administrative law and church legal history at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich.

He was a judge at the Archbishop’s Consistory and Metropolitan Court of Munich, consultant to the Faith Commission of the German Bishops’ Conference, member of the Church Law Working Group of the German Bishops Conference and Managing Director and Editor and Editor of the Journal Archive for Catholic canon law .
