V. (TFV) is the umbrella organization of all 1,041 football clubs [first] in Thuringia with 96,880 members [first] and 2,937 teams [2] . The TFV is one of the 21 state associations of the DFB and a member of the northeast German football association. The first association day took place in Bad Blankenburg on June 9, 1990. The seat of the association is the state capital Erfurt. The association is currently being managed by President Udo Pen\u00dfler-Beyer. The TFV has been divided into nine district football committees (KFA) since the 2012 association structure reform. Until then, the association had been divided into three football districts (West, East and South and South Thuringia), which in turn were divided into a total of 21 football circles. While the national class is divided into three seasons 1\u20133 for men, there has been no national class in the women’s area since the 2021\/22 season. The play classes that followed in the Ligahierarchie are organized by the nine district football committees. The top division in the men’s area is the district league there. From the 2012\/13 season, this division replaced the regional class, which was only introduced in 2010\/11. This is followed by the district league with up to three seasons and the 1st and 2nd district class with up to three seasons. These clubs are also the most successful in the junior area. So far, TFV has not yet been able to provide a first Bundesliga club in the men’s area. In the women’s area, the USV Jena, who became the last East German football champion in 1991, and belonged to the Frauen Bundesliga season in the 1991\/92 season and from the 2008\/09 to 2017\/18 season. The association also reached the DFB Cup final of women in 2010.
