Seigershausen is located in the western runners of the Knüllgebirge almost 5 km north -north -east of the Neukirchen core city, west of the Schwalm landscape through the Schwalm joins. The next largest cities are Kassel (about 45 km north -east), Marburg (approximately 45 km west southwest), Fulda (about 40 km southeast) and Bad Hersfeld (about 25 km of the eastern southeast; distances each). It is flowed through by the Grenzbach, a little southeast of the Steina flows. In the village, the state roads 3155 (Upper Limmer – Seigtshausen – Schwarzenborn) and 3158 (Großropperhausen – Seigtshausen – Neukirchen) meet. The German holiday route Alpen – Ostsee leads through throughout. The village was first mentioned in a document in 1197 in a certificate from the Spieskappel monastery (documents A II). The church was renewed between 1866 and 1868 in the neo -Gothic style according to the designs by Peter Zindel. In 1928, the Forst Neukirchen estate district was incorporated. In the course of the regional reform in Hesse, Seigertshausen was incorporated into Neukirchen on January 1, 1974 and has been a district of Neukirchen since then. [3] [4] Place name [ Edit | Edit the source text ] Seigershausen was mentioned under the following names in obtained documents (in brackets the year of the mentioned): [first] SIGOZESHUSEN (1197) Sigeharthusen (Um 1223) Sebhardshusen (1264) Swicharshusen (1308) Segartzhusin (1354) Segertzhusen (1356) Sigersshusen (1537) Seigerthausen (1585) Accident [ Edit | Edit the source text ] On June 18, 2016, three children drowned in a pond near Seigertshausen. [5] On September 7, 2018, the mayor of the city of Neukirchen was raised for negligent killing because he is said to have insured the pond inadequate and thus contributed to the death of the children. [6] The Schwalmstadt district court sentenced the man to a fine of 12,000 euros, which was suspended for probation. The verdict is not yet final because both the public prosecutor and the Defense Revision have lodged. [7] Coat of arms/symbol [ Edit | Edit the source text ] The symbol of Seigershausen: a brake (“brows”) Seigershausen itself has no coat of arms. A brake (Schwälmer Platt: “Brows”)) is often used as a symbol. This can be explained in such a way that there is a greater occurrence of brakes in Seigershausen and in the immediate vicinity and they are therefore typical of the location. Also from local associations, such as B. the fraternity, this symbol is used in its own club logo.
