The Krabat mill project is intended to help strengthen the village community contrary to the demographic trend and to maintain the infrastructure with the preservation of building culture and its tourist use. Other goals are: the mediation of the crab, especially children and adolescents; Networking of the life stages of Krabat (places in the Krabat region) on a 90-kilometer-long Krabat cycle path; Development and implementation of thematic tours and events; Admission of the Krabat saga in the Saxon curriculum (in the old federal states for a long time). A reconstruction or new building of the Black M\u00fchle has been sought by regional associations and organizations since the early 1990s, for which it initially lacked financial resources.
