From Thronstahl Was a German Neofolk band, which was founded in 1995 by Josef Maria Klumb and dissolved in 2010.

The basic idea for throne steel was designed around 1995 when Klumb was still playing at Forthcoming Fire. He was looking for an expression of European identity. [first] While Forthcoming Fire was a Dark-Wave band, the other members also had other musical backgrounds than Klumb. [first] In 1998 her first 10 ” Stuck , 2000 her debut album Internal government ; Its aesthetics remained formative for the band. [first] Topics of the album were medieval Europe and the Arturi Legend of the Holy Grail. [first] At the end of 2008 the song was covered by throne steel The Saints are Coming , For the 30th anniversary of the Scottish punk band The Skids worshiped by Klumb. Klumb sings in a duet with a singer and a music video was produced. The fifth album was released in April 2009, with the title Germanium metallic . In summer 2011, Klumb published an essay on the homepage of the band, which announced the dissolution of throne steel. Klumb does not call an exact date of resolution, but mentions a failed concert on August 1, 2010, which he describes as the last action of the band, the following time brought the band to dissolve the band. [2]

The music genre cannot be clearly determined because the range of music from Industrial Rock and Martial Industrial to Neoclassik and Neofolk ranges. The individual albums differ greatly. So was the album To sacrifice Signed much calmer and guitar -heavy than the predecessor War, Holy War!? .

It is also striking in the concept of the group that all album publications were only provided with Latin titles. The text design is also not kept purely in German, there are also parts of text in English, Latin and Italian. Klumb and Raymond Plummer are both strongly shaped by traditionalist Catholicism and, according to Klumb, Catholics, who also deal with paganism [first] ; According to him, old Christianity is full of influences from the time of paganism, which for many modern Christians is not clear [first] .

To controversy leads to the fact that the group is open to nationalist ideas, Nazi aesthetics and martial song titles such as Heimaterde, topsoil, fatherland or The new empire used. Likewise, the rod bundles ( fasces ) used that became known as a symbol of Italian fascism. Fasci plugs were sold on the side of the band as “[D] Ezenter Small Middle of Panel”, as well as Fascist songbook . [3] The group also also uses language samples, for example of the right -wing conservative pastor Hans Milch or right -wing extremist Horst Mahler as stylistic devices, and published songs on tributal to Corneliu Zelea Codreanu, Leni Riefenstahl and Julius Evola, on which there were also clearly right -wing interpreters, as well as compilation Present! – Compilation of nationalist music the Romanian right -wing extremist organization Noua Dreaptă by Claudiu Mihuțiu.

Although the group is therefore deliberately kept secret from many relevant press organs of the black scene, it has achieved a high level of popularity, especially in Eastern Europe (especially in Russia) and Italy. [4] In Germany, throne steel is successful, but polarized due to the right-wing extremism allegations raised against them. The appearance at the Wave Gothic meeting 2000 was prohibited by the city of Leipzig for participating. Nevertheless, the group entered the stage without their front man and remained motionless with spade and sun wheel flag in protest, while the music was played off the assembly line. [5]

In one Spiegel -Articles of February 16, 2009, which deals with the connection between Catholicism and right -wing extremism, is counted by the two authors to one of the musical pioneers of this movement. They continue to refer to the veneration that Hans Milch exhausted on the part of Klumbs, who even transferred to Catholicism after a personal conversation with the suspended pastor of Limburg an der Lahn. Hans Milch was not a member of the St. Pius X priesthood, but it was very close and joined in Germany for her interests. Klumb is now trying to “deceased “Highest friend” to make immortal ”. [6]

“Beyond the Catholic” , it says on the von throne steel website under “Church” , enjoy the priest great encouragement in “Our defensive conservative like avant -garde subculture”

Michael Sontheimer, Peter Wensierski : Article On the right of God in the Spiegel [6]

Systems in which right -wing extremist positions are clearly obtained are also published on the band’s own website. In his essay “election notification”, Klumb writes about his wish to build a national dictatorship in Germany. In his texts, Klumb expresses similarly open. On the album Germanium metallic are songs like State enemy/ home friend , National Anarchy in the EU or Respect the Hierarchy . The album received a positive response from the Young freedom : Never performed [Klumb] such a massive all -round against both personal opponents and the enemies of Europe – hence the enemies of freedom all over the world.
