Baby software – Wikipedia
A Bible program serves to read and study the Bible on the computer or on the mobile device. It mostly contains different Bible translations, partly also (Bible) lexicons, dictionaries or Bible comments.
In addition to displaying the text on the computer, most programs contain a variety of additional functions that are not available in a printed Bible. These include:
- Finding Bible sites quickly after entering the Bible book and possibly chapter and verse
- The quick keyword search in the entire Bible text (concordance function)
- Depending on the software, quick jumps to refer to other Bible sites and, if necessary, explanatory footnotes in the Bible text
- Depending on the software, the comparative display of several Bible translations in parallel side by side
- Depending on the software, the comparative representation of the four gospels parallel side by side (synopsis)
- Depending on the software, inserting your own comments and notes as well as favorites
- Depending on the software and translation of the Bible, the better finding of topics and biblical stories by table of contents of the individual Bible books, which are linked to the associated Bible texts
- Depending on the software, access to secondary literature such as B. lexicons, comments and Bible atlas
When choosing a Bible program, it should be noted that not every program with the same selection of Bible texts is offered. The decision is almost more decisive than choosing the program itself, which texts should be used and whether the text is available for this program at all. Copyrighted texts are usually only offered for commercial Bible programs. But the purpose can also play a role. Especially if you want to work with original language texts, a program that has been developed for scientific use is recommended.
