Capone Is an American drama film by Josh Trank about the notorious Chicago Mobster Alphonse “Al” Capone with Tom Hardy in the leading role.

The film was published on May 12, 2020 in the United States and in Canada via video-on-demand. In Germany, the film was released by VOD on March 19, 2021 at various streaming services and from March 26, 2021 on DVD and Blu-ray disc.

The 48-year-old “Fonse” is seriously ill and spends his retirement with his family in a villa on Palm Island in South Florida with silent observation by the FBI. It is his last year of life.

Fonse is a former chicago gangster called alphonse “al” Capone and was considered the most notorious gangster boss in the United States during the 1920s. In 1931 convicted of tax evasion, he was released from custody after a decade, since he suffered from an advanced dementia due to an unadorned syphilis disease, which developed into a neurolues during his detention, and the government no longer considered him a threat.

After a recent stroke deteriorates both its physical and mental constitution, Fonse begins to hallucinate, paranoid becomes paranoid and seems to be a danger to himself and for his environment.

The German synchronization was created under the dialogue of Christoph Cierpka and after a dialogue book by Stefan Kaiser by the synchronized company Neue Tonfilm Munich. [2]

In October 2016 it was announced that Tom Hardy for the role of the “al” Capone in the film Foundation (Latin short form for “Alfonso”) was hired, in which Josh Trank will act as a screenwriter and director. [3] Due to Hardy’s commitment to another project, the production of the film, which was regularly scheduled for 2017, shifted. [4]

In March of 2018 it was announced that actors Matt Dillon, Linda Cardellini, Kyle Maclachlan, Kathrine Narducci, [5] Jack Lowden, [6] Noel Fisher and Tilda del Toro were hired for the film. Trank announced on April 9, 2019 that the film is to be released at the end of 2019. [9] However, the publication was missing and was scheduled for 2020 without a specific date.
