Carlos Enrique Cruz Lorenzen (Santiago, October 13, 1951) is a Chilean commercial and political engineer, Minister of Public Works, Transport and Telecommunications of his country between 2000 and 2002. [ first ] [ 2 ]

With the return to democracy Cruz would occupy, during the government of President Patricio Aylwin, the position of Chief of Cabinet of the Ministry of Economy, Promotion and Reconstruction (at that time headed by Carlos Ominami). [ 2 ] [ 4 ] During the Ministry of Ricardo Lagos in Public Works (1994-1998), he would occupy the position of General Concessions Coordinator, leading the implementation of emblematic infrastructure projects. On March 11, 2000, he assumed as Minister of Public Works, Transport and Telecommunications of the then President Ricardo Lagos. [ 4 ] In January 2002 he left the portfolio being replaced by industrial engineer Javier Etcheberry.

COIMAS CASE AND RENUVES THE PS [ To edit ]

Shortly after his departure, the Coimas Case , which involved Personeros of the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications of Chile in acts of corruption in the delivery of technical licenses.
