The 1.88 m tall center first played in the Canadian junior league Ligue de Hockey Junior Majeur du Québec, where he was on the ice between 2001 and 2005 for the Castors de Sherbrooke and Océanic de Rimouski. At the NHL Entry Draft 2003, the Florida Panthers secured the rights to the Canadian in the seventh round, without subsequently equipping it with a contract. Thus Roussin was given the opportunity to be drafted again, which finally happened through the Los Angeles Kings in the year NHL Entry Draft 2005. The Californians used the left -wing shooters most of the time at their Farmteam Reading Royals in Echl, and the Canadian also received a few missions from the other cooperation partner Manchester Monarchs in the higher -class AHL.

Via the Echl team Bakersfield Condors, Dany Roussin moved to the French Ligue Magnus in the 2008/09 season, where he played for the Diables Rouges de Briançon. In the summer of 2009, the Heilbronn falcons from the 2nd Bundesliga paid him a reimbursement contract for two months. However, the Canadian never played a league game for them and then returned to North America. Roussin received a contract at Cool FM 103.5 de Saint-Georges in the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey. He was active for this until 2014, after which Roussin ended his career at the league competitor Marquis de Jonquière.
