The Hauptstrasse 235 leads from Nidau ​​via Bellmund, Aarberg via Frieswil west around the Frienisberg to Bern, in contrast to Hauptstrasse 236, which leads from Aarberg east around the Frienisberg to Bern.

The section Aarberg -Nidau ​​of today’s Hauptstrasse 235 is part of the historical road compound (Bern -) Aarberg -Nidau [first] and with this almost identical, except in parts of the large moss only from the middle of the 19th century [2] .
