Horst Musil (Born June 10, 1971 in Vienna) is a former Austrian football player and current football coach.

Until 1980 Musil played in the youth of the Union Landhaus before he was discovered by a talenter seeker of the FK Austria Vienna. In the Austria youth, Musil became a total of six times the Austrian youth state champion until 1988 and played in a team with the later Austrian national soccer player Thomas Flögel. In 1988 he moved back to Union Landhaus for a season. He made the leap from the youth to the first team and shot 18 league this season.

Due to the strong season at Union Landhaus, the first Vienna FC became aware of him, who initially won him for the U-21 team and then also used him in a game in the fighting team. [first] In the 1991/92 season there was a change to the then Austrian second division club SR Donaufeld. At Donaufeld he was, among other things, teammate of Walter Schachner. This season Musil also played at the Vienna Stadthall tournament, in which he scored goals against SK Rapid Vienna and the Viennese Austria. After his strong appearance in this tournament, the Kronen Zeitung “Donaufeld Stadthallen-Held” designated.

Because of the oversupply of strong offensive forces at Donaufeld and also because of several minor undiscipline, Musil could not prevail properly and switched to the ASSK Bruck an der Leitha in the Regionalliga Ost. With the Lower Austrians, he immediately became a top performer and immediately shot 18 championship doors. In the 1993/94 season, Musil moved back to Vienna to SV Gerasdorf. The Gerasdorf station ended in 1994 with the championship title in the Viennese league. In the following season, Musil was awarded to the Vienna sports club, [2] before Gerasdorf committed him to the Vienna.

In the spring of 1995, Gerasdorf continued to go to SV Schwechat to Vienna. Schwechat played for relegation this year, which could be reached at the end of the season. This was followed by another loan to Burgenland to SV Sigleß. During his time at Sigleß, the rental fee for Musil occurred because of the rental fee, which also made this station for short duration. [3] [4]

In 1996 Musil ended his “hiking years” and moved to the Lacher Stadtliga to the LAC until 1998. In the following years there was an intermezzo in the Lower Austrian subclass in the 1998/99 season in the UPF, [5] Before he ended his player career in 2003 at the Vienna Oberligaverein 1980 Vienna. In the 2004/05 season, Musil started his coaching career as a player coach in the Vienna Lower House at Union 12. Afterwards Musil was brought into Burgenland as a coach for the amateur team of the SC-ESV Parndorf. [7] Under the then chief coach of Parndorfer Peter Herglotz, he was also used as an assistant coach for the professional department of the association. On December 13, 2006, Horst Musil’s dismissal was officially announced as head coach of the Parndorf Amateurs. At that time, the team was in 2nd place in Burgenland 2nd League North. As a reason, the Parndorf chairman Milletech stated “restructuring in the club”.

For the spring season, Musil then switched to the league competitor UFC Pamhagen that played against the descent at the time. The relegation could be celebrated at the end of the season. For the 2006/07 season, Musil became the coach of the SV Goals presented. In November 2007 he was released from Gols when the team was on 12th place in the table. [8]

On June 11, 2008, he was a coach for the ASV Nickelsdorf obligated. [9] As a result, he led the team to third place until the winter break. On December 10, 2008, he was released by the club management without giving reasons. [ten]

In July 2010 he took over the coaching post in the 1st class South Club in Lower Austrian ASK Trumau . [11] On November 14, 2010, he celebrated the autumn championship title with the team. [twelfth] As a youth coach, he has been looking after various young teams of the FC Praterkids United which at the same time represent the youth department of its former association Landstraßer AC. [13] [14] As of 2018, he took over the men’s department of the LAC-Inter as head coach. [15]

Musil is married to Sabine Musil-Binder, the granddaughter of the rapid legend Franz “Bimbo” Binder and daughter of the former SK Rapid Vienna and DSV Leoben manager Franz Binder Jr.
