The goal of ISO 29990 was the creation of a general quality model for professional practice and service provision as well as a joint reference for learning service providers and its customers for planning, development and implementation of training and further education as well as the promotion of development. The standard focused on learners, learning results, learning services and the competence of the learning service provider. Organizations and individuals should be supported by the international standard in the selection of a suitable learning service provider that meets the needs and expectations of the development of skills and skills. Up to 2006, educational services were only dealt with in Committees in DIN and ISO, which had a different focus than education. The objectives of their standardization activity in educational standards were always embedded and subordinate to the responsibility area (SCOPE) of the respective committee. Against this background, the DIN in early 2006 has an independent working committee for educational services DIN Na 159-02-04 AA [6] formed and applied for the establishment of a technical committee for educational services at ISO.
