Karl-Heinz Sch\u00e4fer headed the family company Sch\u00e4fer-Bauten as managing director from 1966 as managing director Karl-Heinz Sch\u00e4fer was the great-grandson of the company founder Karl Sch\u00e4fer (1837\u20131914). In 1953 he joined the family business, which at the time Karl Sch\u00e4fer & Co. GmbH called, one. From 1968, Sch\u00e4fer belonged to the regional committee for the district of Tecklenburg and later for the new district of Steinfurt, whose chair he took over in 1971. From 1976 to 1992 Karl-Heinz Sch\u00e4fer also served as IHK Vice President.
