The malicious is with 2227 MSNM One of the most important and highest mountains of the Sierra de Guadarrama, the middle section of the Iberian vicose in Spain.
La Maliciosa is located in the northeast of the Comunidad de Madrid (Spain), framed in the east by the largest granite formation in Europe La Pedriza, and in the west of the La Barranca valley.
Its gap height is 153 m and with an unmistakable profile, it protrudes significantly from the Castilian Meseta. This makes him one of the most visible and most important mountains of the Sierra de Guadarrama. The south wall is greatly sloping, in it there are several mountain streams that enable a modest alpine vegetation. High pasture dominate on the upper flanks, while below 1700 m partly dense forest jaw stocks can be found. Much of the mountain is within the regional park High Manzanares Basin and the future national park Sierra de Guadarrama.
At the summit, the boundaries between the communities of Navacerrada, Becerril de la Sierra, El Boalo and Manzanares El Real are running [first] which are all in the northeast of the Comunidad de Madrid in the center of Spain.
The Maliciosa is located in the far south of a 2-kilometer north-south mountain ridge, which is at the summit of the Bola del Mundo ( 2265 m ) begins. The Bola del Mundo belongs to the Cuerda Larga mountain range, which enables a popular height hike with a spectacular panoramic view-especially at full moon-on Madrid in the west-east direction.
On the summit there is a trigonometric point from which you can enjoy an excellent view of the Sierra de Guadarrama.
Originally, the mountain was known as the “Montaña Maliciosa” – “fraudulent mountain”. This is due to the difficulties of his ascent over the southern flanks. These routes are very steep and at a short distance cope with a height difference of over 1100 m. Later the abbreviation shaped, and nowadays the mountain is known as “La Maliciosa” or “Pico de la Maliciosa”.
