Lithium – Wikipedia
Lithium (German: Littai ) is a municipality in the Dolenjska region ( Undercarriage ) in Slovenia.
In the total community consisting of 106 towns and hamlets with 221 km² [first] 15,054 people lived on January 1, 2014. [2] The city of Litija has 6,420 inhabitants and is located east of Ljubljana in the Save valley.
As of January 1, 2015, the municipality was interconnected by the Statistical region Osrednjeslovenska (Central Lovenia) to Zasavska (Lower Save). [3]

Until 1965 the mine was here Sitar in operation. In the 19th century it was one of the largest lead mines in Europe. Even the Illyrians, Celts and Romans use this and farmed mining. In Litija there is also a museum that makes the history of mining and that of ferry and boat operation on the Save. [4]
In 1882, a valuable bronze vessel, a Situla, from the 6th century BC. Chr. Found. This vessel was also integrated into the coat of arms. [5]
In Litija, the monument to the architect Jože Plečnik is worth seeing. In Konjšica there is the burial site of the conductor Carlos Kleiber.
Southeast of Litija stands in the neighboring community of Šmartno Pri Litiji the Wagensberg Castle (Bogenšperk).
