María de la Esperanza de Bourbon-Dos Sicilias y Orleans

Bourbon hope (Madrid, June 14, 1914 – Villamanrique de la Condesa, August 8, 2005), was a Spanish princess of Bourbon’s house with the same dignities and honors as the infants of Spain by concession of Alfonso XIII at birth.

Family Origins [ To edit ]

Daughter of the infant Carlos de Borbón-Dos Sicilias (1870-1949) and her second wife, Princess Luisa de Orleans, Princess of France (1882-1958). [ 2 ] Sweetened granddaughter of Prince Alfonso de Borbón-Dos Sicilias, Count of Caserta and Chief of the Royal House of the Two Sicilias and Princess María Antonieta de Borbón-Dos Sicilias. Maternal was the granddaughter of Prince Felipe de Orleans, Count of Paris and head of the Royal House of France, and Princess María Isabel de Orleans.

In 1908 Alfonso XIII had arranged that the children as a result of this second marriage of the infant Don Carlos would enjoy the honors, preeminences and distinctions of the infants of Spain, immediately following these in the hierarchical order as princes of the house of Bourbon. [ first ]

He was baptized on June 21, 1914 at the Gasparini Hall of the Royal Palace of Madrid, [ Use 1 ] Being his sponsors his aunt Queen Amelia de Portugal [ Use 2 ] And his uncle the prince raniero de Bourbon-two sicilias. The names of María de la Esperanza, Amelia, Raniera, María del Rocío and Luisa Gonzaga. [ 3 ] [ 4 ]

His sister was María de las Mercedes, Countess of Barcelona and mother of King Juan Carlos I of Spain.

In 1929 she was appointed lady of the order of the noble ladies of Queen María Luisa. [ 5 ]

Nuptials and descendants [ To edit ]

Princess María de la Esperanza married on December 18, 1944 in Seville with Pedro Gastón de Orleans-Abranza, imperial prince of Brazil, one of the two suitors to the Brazilian throne, and head of the Petropolis branch. [ 6 ] Prince Pedro was the son of Prince Pedro de Alcántara de Orleans-Abranza and Czechoslovaca Countess Isabel Dobrzensky of Dobrzenicz. From the moment of his marriage María de la Esperanza, became the Imperial Princess of Brazil with imperial and real highness treatment. Six children are born from this union:

  • Pedro Carlos de Orleans-Abranza y Borbón (1945), married to Rony Kuhn de Souza from which he sent two days after his only son was born, he gets married again with Patricia Alexandra Brasocombe with whom he has a son.
