The Mariendorfer Damm (colloquial MA-DAMM Called) is part of the federal road 96 and an important one and outdoor road in Berlin. It is named after the Mariendorf district of the same name in the Tempelhof-Schöneberg district.

The Mariendorfer Damm begins at the Ullsteinhaus after the Tempelhofer Damm and ends at the Buckower / Marienfelder Chaussee intersection, where it passes into the Lichtenrad Damm. It runs over almost its entire length in the Mariendorf district. Only a few meters of the street country belong in the north to the Tempelhof district (with houses No. 1–4) and 400 meters in the southern area are located in the Lichtenrade district (with houses No. 420–446, especially in Lichtenrade and No. 417–447 Odd in Buckow).

The road has a total length of around 4.3 kilometers. The line U6 of the Berlin subway, which runs from Alt-Tegel to Alt-Mariendorf, runs under the sub-area between Ullsteinhaus and the former village center of Mariendorf. The Westphalweg underground station is also located at the Mariendorfer Damm and was opened on February 28, 1966.

Between 1901 and 1949 the Mariendorfer was called Damm Chausseestraße , the southern part of the street had the name between 1921 and 1949 Lichtenrader Chaussee . In 1949 the street was dedicated as a Mariendorfer Damm. The Berlin street In Tempelhof, until the renaming to Tempelhofer Damm, led over the Stubenrauchbrücke and 140 meters further south to the Tempelhof-Mariendorfer border. Since the renaming the Berlin street in Tempelhofer Damm and the Chausseestraße In Mariendorfer Damm at the end of the 1940s, the bridge area was from the street naming. In addition, the southern area was Berlin street included in the Mariendorfer Damm. [2]

Around 1930, a generous connection of the Berlin part of the then Reichsstraße 96 at the planned motorway ring around Berlin was decided. Therefore, from the first tram station south of Alt-Mariendorf (Chausseestraße 169) The Mariendorfer Damm was six -striped, with a median for the tram (line 99). The medium strip only ended in Lichtenrade on Goethestrasse, before the overlap of the Berlin goods outer ring.

Public transport is guaranteed on the southern Mariendorfer Damm by the bus lines 179, X71, M76 and X76.
