Processing procedure are treatment methods in alternative medicine, which are supposed to serve to detoxify the body juices. The terms are also synonymous Humoraltherapie (from Latin moods “Juices”) or Aschner procedure (used after the doctor Bernhard Aschner, 1883-1960). Purgation (from Latin clear “Clean”) denotes an “expansion” over the intestine. However, there is no scientifically sound indication that this is necessary or effective.

In antiquity and early Middle Ages, until the blood circulation was discovered, the functions of the body were faced as an interplay of different juices (Latin moods ) before (see humoral pathology). One believed that internal diseases came about due to imbalances, contamination and poisoning of these body juices. Hippocrates of Kos z. B. described poor mixtures of blood, bile and mucus. The mismatch is actually to be understood quantitatively.

The physical moods were later set in competition and interaction to the noble, “mental” liquids above the diaphragm (tears, saliva, liquor) spirit were called. The interior of the body is in balance with the environment with the environment.

In antiquity, the theory developed that abundance should be regarded as the cause of diseases (see civilization diseases). Before the general health insurance was introduced, the clientele of the academic doctors was above average wealthy and it was obvious to blame “juice excess” for their symptoms. With these ideas, the healing juices, which were pathogenic to the body, tried. The main direction of therapy goes from the inside out; The doctor has to provide opening, drainage, pressure compensation of the clogged body.

Paracelsus rejected the four -person teaching, but held on to the procedure. He believed that disease -causing poisons and “slag” could accumulate in the body that had to be removed. “What is not pure, which is not flesh and blood, has two outputs, through the chair and through the urine. So it first depends on the forces of the stomach. These are supposed to divorce the tartarus and food and exit the tartarus through the chair, this is due to the feces that should be nothing but just a slag and tartarus. […] If this does not happen, a part can start with the intestines, that’s the slag. The Tartarus itself separates from the slag and escapes through the urinary tract. ” [first]

With the increasing understanding of the physiology of a body in the age of the enlightenment, disease theories that are based on the pabbing were increasingly into the background, since other, scientifically verifiable causes of diseases could be determined and the respective diseases could be successfully treated. However, the outdated theories remained a basis for alternative medicine until modern times, whereby additional esoteric elements are integrated regardless of the requirements of scientific standards. So B. stars, seasons or the state of the moon are in contact with the body juices and influence. Well -known representatives of modern humoral medicine were Christoph Wilhelm Hufeland and Bernhard Aschner.

With the scientific knowledge that humoral medicine is no longer durable, representatives of the expansion are now increasingly referring to metabolic waste and external toxins in order not to have to give up their theories. They are the slags that accumulate in the organism like in a machine and have to be removed regularly. Although this idea could not be proven, the term detoxification even found its way into school books. [2]

The expansion as a supposed removal of slag therefore focuses primarily on the regulation of intestinal engineism, regeneration of the physiological intestinal flora and the intestinal lymphatic system as well as the excretion of urine, in which, in the event of the need for the need, there are supposed to be demonstrable “putrefaction inxins”. The “diagnosis” of these poisons is also based on alternative medical procedures, so that no scientific evidence has so far been provided.

Outer poisons (amalgam, environmental toxins, etc.) or accumulated metabolic products (e.g. uric acid in gout or glucose in diabetes mellitus) can only be assumed as causes of illness if the accused substance in the body in harmful quantities and/or on False place is detected laboratory or histopathologically and also match the symptoms and the latency time to the substance. Even in such rare cases, the alternative medical expansion procedures are unsuitable according to scientific criteria for therapy.

A generally recognized evidence that the body must be “detoxified” or “detoxified” in this sense does not exist.
