The State road 40 of Resia (SS 40) is an Italian state road that was determined in 1928. In German it is mostly Reschenstraße or Reschenpassstrasse called. It starts at SS 38 in Spondinig in the Vinschgau and runs through the top section of the Etschtal, the Vinschger Oberland, to the Reschenpass, where the federal road 180 (until 1971 B187) joins Landeck. It goes back to a section of the Strada Nazionale 25 stipulated in 1923. Its length is 31 kilometers. Because the street leads to the Reschenpass, the SS 40 received the name of the name when determining resia .
