Thiago Machado Vilela Pereira (Born January 26, 1986 in Volta Redonda) is a Brazilian swimmer. He lives in Belo Horizonte.

Pereira drew attention for the first time when he won the silver medal over 200 meters in 2003 as a seventeen -year -old at the Pan -American games in Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic. He had arrived in the top of the world a year later and was able to record his greatest success to date at the 2004 short railway championships in Indianapolis. He achieved the victory over 200 meters. In addition, he managed to complete the medal set in singles and with the season.

At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, he belonged to the Brazilian team and swam over 200 meters to the final, where he finally took fifth place. Pereira’s most successful competition so far were the Pan -American games in 2007 in his home country in Rio de Janeiro. He won in six of eight competitions for which he was listed and achieved the silver and bronze medal in the other two.
