Timo “Furkka” Furuholm (Born October 11, 1987 in Pori) is a former Finnish football player. The striker spent most of his career at Inter Turku and was a Finnish international. Between 2012 and 2016 he played in Germany for Fortuna Düsseldorf and Halle FC.

In the club [ Edit | Edit the source text ]

The 1.85 meter tall attacker began to play football at Toejoen Veikot, an association from the Pori region. On May 15, 2003, he was the youngest player at the age of 15, seven months and five days, who was ever used in a Finnish first division catch; For his club FC Jazz Pori, he played four league games in the 2003 game year. [first] In 2004 he hired VG-62, but was immediately awarded to the third division club Musan Salama, who is also native to Pori, where he contributed 17 goals in 21 championship missions. In the same season he also played two qualification games (no official league operations, but only play-off parts) for VG-62.

In the following year, Furuholm came to another four leagueaepartia and two goals for his team before moving to the Veikkausliiga, the highest Finnish division, in the current season for Inter Turku. In 2008 he won the Finnish championship title and Ligap Cup with Inter Turku, the cup competition in 2009. Initially, he only came to a few missions in the championship and was awarded to his ex-club VG-62 in 2006 and 2007. His real breakthrough only began in 2009 when he scored eleven times in 23 league games. After only four missions in 2010, he was able to go on a bit in the game year and came to 22 league hits in 33 championship games.

For the second half of the 2011/12 season, he switched to the German second division club Fortuna Düsseldorf. [2] He was used nine times until the end of the season and reached the promotion to the Bundesliga with the team. In the subsequent 2012/13 season, however, he was no longer taken into account and was only used in the second team in the Regionalliga West during the preliminary round.

In January 2013, Furuholm was awarded to Halleschen FC in the 3rd division for the rest of the season. [3] There the Finn became the best scorer of his team with eight goals from 16 games. This performance was also taken as an opportunity by the HFC fans to start an online petition in order to bring Furuholm, who initially returned to Düsseldorf after the end of the loan period, back to Halleschen FC. [4] On August 16, 2013, he finally moved to Halleschen FC. [5] There he was able to assert himself as a top performer and was again the best scorer of his team in the two seasons 2013/14 and 2014/15. In 2015 and 2016 he also won the Saxony-Anhalt Cup twice with the association. From autumn 2015, however, he was only used occasionally and could no longer prevail. [6]

After almost four years in Halle, Furuholm returned to Finland in January 2017 to his former Inter Turku association. There he became a team captain and again won the national trophy with the club in 2018 with a 1-0 victory in the final against HJK Helsinki. After a total of five seasons as a regular player, Furuholm ended his player career after the 2021 season. [7]
