[first] (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});after-content-x4Kowarski was the son of the well -known plant breeder Anatoli Jefimowitsch Kowarski and the agronomist Dora Abramowna born Kleiman. The family lived in Cherson since 1935 and then during the German-Soviet war in the evacuation in Frunse. In 1944 the family settled in Kischinau when the father was appointed to the chair for plant breeding and sowing breeding of the agricultural university there. Wiktor Kowarski completed middle school No. 3 there (together with the physiologist Jakow Abramowitsch Altman and the oncologist Israil Fischelewitsch Eisman). [2] In 1952 Kowarski closed his studies at the physical-mathematical faculty of the Moldovian state university in Kischinau. His thesis was looked after by Juri Perlin. In 1952 he married his fellow student Brigitta Orenstein. The physics chemist Isaak Bersucer and the mathematician Israel Gohberg were his friends. After completing his studies, Kowarski worked as a lecturer in the faculty for higher mathematics and theoretical mechanics of the Kischinau agricultural college in 1952-1960. In 1954 he began to publish. In 1959 he successfully defended his candidate dissertation in the Kiev Institute of Physics Studies on the theory of generation and recombination of electrons in semiconductors . In 1961 he moved to the Moldovian Academy of Sciences and worked as a senior assistant 1961–1963 at the Institute for Mathematics and 1963–1969 at the Institute for Applied Physics. In 1969 he became head of the Laboratory for Physical Kinetics. In 1970 he successfully defended his doctoral dissertation in the Kiev Institute for Theoretical Physics Theory of a lot of quantum processes in crystals . In 1971 he was appointed professor. In 1972 the Moldovian Academy of Sciences elected him to be a corresponding member, and in 1992 he became a full member. He headed the academy councils for biophysics, theoretical and mathematical physics, optoelectronics and semiconductor physics and technology. In 1995 it was emeritated. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});after-content-x4Kowarski’s main areas of work were kinetics of the many quantum processes in the physics of condensed matter, quantum biophysics, [3] Synergetics, effects of ultrakurz laser radiation and molecular biology. [4] It determined the resonance -like dependence of the speed of a chemical reaction on the atomic coordinates. [5] 1999 appeared in Kischinau Kowarski’s prose and verse autobiography The time arrow of my life . [6] With his wife Brigitta, Kowarski had two children, the physicist and electronics technician Jewgeni and the pediatrician and neuropathologist Larissa. Kowarski’s brother Walentin was an agronomist and physiologist. ↑ Boris Filip: Academician Victor A. Kovarsky – physicist,Biophysician and man of humanity . In: Physics and modern technologies .
