As a result, the left bank of the Rhine was occupied by France and annexed in 1797. So Oberw\u00fcrzbach became French. [2] After the Vienna Congress, the place became part of the Rhine circle in the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1815. In 1852 Oberw\u00fcrzbach left the municipality of St. Ingbert and joined the municipalities of Ommersheim and Heckendalheim into a community that was managed by the Ommersheim mayor. [2] After the First World War, the provisions of the Versailles Peace Treaty of 1919 meant that Oberw\u00fcrzbach was in the Saar area from 1920 to 1935, which was placed under French administration for 15 years with a mandate of the League of Nations. On January 1, 1925, the village became self -employed by separating it by the Ommersheim Mayor’s Ey and getting its own mayor. The two hamlets of Reichenbrunn and Rittersm\u00fchle were also added on January 13, 1937.
