For homonymous items, see line 2. The Line 2 of the Seoul Metro (nicknamed green line or circular line ) is a circular line of the Seoul metro. The line in the direction of the needles of a watch is called “inner circular line” (Hangeul: 내선 내선) and that which goes in the opposite direction is called “exterior circular line” (Hangeul: 외선 외선). The busiest line on the network, it is also the longest circular metro line in the world, with its 60.2 km long. Line 2 was built from 1978 to 1984 simultaneously with the Seongsu branch (the second branch, that of Sinjeong, was built between 1989 and 1995). The Dangsan bridge was closed to be rebuilt in 1996 and reopened the November 22, 1999 . The old steel beam bridge was replaced by a 1.3 km long concrete bridge between Dangsan located on the southern shore of Han and Hapjeong located on the north bank. The line connects the city center, Gangnam, Teheranno, Seoul Nationale University, Hongdae and the Coxe/World Trade Center complexes in Seoul. The October 20, 2005 , the Yongdu metro station was opened, and was the first metro station to be fitted with landing doors. Since 2008, all other stations in line 2 have been equipped. New railway rolling stock was also gradually introduced on the line, replacing the old trains. The oars circulate every five to six minutes normally and every three minutes in rush hour.
