The Deux Rives Garden (German : Garden of the two bank ) is a cross -border public park between the city of Strasbourg in France and the city of Kehl in Germany. On the French side, the city of Strasbourg had built a racetrack on the banks of the Rhine in 1925. During the Second World War, it was used as a training ground by the Wehrmacht [ 3 ] . In the 1960s, the old racetrack was transformed into a public park named Parc du Rhin. A large jet of water was north of the park, near the Pont de l’Europe. The park had a motel and an outdoor swimming pool, the Rhine swimming pool. A youth hostel was built south of the park in the 1980s. In 1986, the swimming pool was transformed into a aquatic center called Oc\u00e9ade [ 4 ] . It is definitely closed ten years later in 1996 [ 5 ] . Parisian architect Marc Mimram designed the bridge that connects the two banks.
