This player-player was created by Gary Gygax just a few months after the start of the gygax campaign in Faucongris and is consequently one of the oldest characters constantly associated with Dungeons and Dragons . When Gygax was forced to leave TSR, he lost the creative control of Mordenka\u00efne. TSR then made Mordenka\u00efnen a powerful mage with solid convictions opposed to moral absolute, at the same time as the chief of the circle of eight, a cabale of eight powerful magicians. In the works of fiction associated with Faucongris world , he played both the role of protagonist and antagonist. Official publications of Faucongris world are sometimes in contradiction with each other with regard to Mordenka\u00efnen. However, there is no doubt that this is an important figure in the fictional history of the flanss.   At the end of 1972, Gary Gygax created Castel Gryffalc and his underground passages. After a few months almost non-stop during which he played the role of the playmaker [ first ] , Gygax asks one of his players, Rob Kuntz , to share the function of Master of Dungeon with him, in order to be able to experience the game as a player. At the beginning of 1973, following this decision, Gygax created several characters, including a magician of first is level [ 2 ] . When the Faucongris campaign decor is reissued during the supplement ” From the Ashes ” [ 11 ] , Mordenka\u00efnen is reshaped and becomes the most powerful magician in the world. The circle of eight is now described as a cabal of eight magicians under the supervision of Mordenka\u00efne, who seeks the balance between the forces of good and those of evil. Mordenka\u00efnen is one of the most famous mages whose spells are included in the book ” Greyhawk Adventures ” [ twelfth ] . The name of Mordenka\u00efnen is used to describe various spells published for the magic system of Dungeons and Dragons . The characteristics of Mordenka\u00efnen for AD&D are published for the first time in the supplement ” The Rogues Gallery (1980); Later, Gary Gygax will never have given Brian Blume , the author of the supplement, the slightest information on the magician and will insist on the fact that Blume was forced to invent the published characteristics [ 13 ] . Mordenka\u00efnen believes that the Citadel’s failure was due to its composition. He thinks that the group he plans can only succeed if its members are “intellectual men and gifted with magic talents, whose main interests are other than material”. Role and philosophy [ modifier | Modifier and code ] The role of Mordenka\u00efnen in the campaign setting of Faucongris is that of a man who alone performs peacekeeping functions. It operates according to a theory based on the balance of powers and neutrality, trying to prevent both the good as the evil from winning. His methods are those of a manipulator and he prefers to pull the strings in the shade.
