Cha\u00efm Nissim was born in Jerusalem in 1949 in a family of bankers [ first ] . In the mid -1950s, his family emigrated to Geneva. Nissim obtains an engineering diploma in electronics and computer science at the Federal Polytechnic School in Lausanne in 1973 [ first ] . He worked briefly in Israel before returning to settle in Switzerland. Cha\u00efm Nissim is married and has three daughters [ 3 ] . Anti-nuclear activism [ modifier | Modifier and code ] As early as 1972, Cha\u00efm Nissim campaigned in Geneva against the Verbois nuclear power plant project, in the town of Russin, founding with other personalities the Coordination Committee against Nuclear Verbois (CCVN) bringing together different local associations [ 4 ] . The July 8, 1976 , Cha\u00efm Nissim was arrested by the French police during one of the first major demonstrations against Superphenix. In 1977, he participated in the organization of the demonstration in Creys-Malville in 1977. He was again arrested by the French police and expelled from France July 31 , the day of the demonstration. During his expulsion, a decree is signed prohibiting him from returning to France for ten years [ 5 ] . Cha\u00efm Nissim said: ‘ I know it may seem bizarre to consider rockets as a means of non -violent action. However, we took all the imaginable precautions to be sure that no worker was likely to be affected, so we committed a non -violent attack. [ first ] \u00bb But Mr. Maurice Barbeger, head of the central development, said for his part: “It is the safety of the workers who is in question. It is intolerable. Twenty people worked inside the reactor. One of the projectiles that has passed through a breach of the building – necessary for the installation of technical equipment – fell 20 meters from an employee. ” [ ten ] The May 8, 2003 , Nissim made public his responsibility for the attack on the arugula committed in 1982 [ 8 ] By publishing a book on the subject and on its relations with terrorist groups [ first ] , [ 11 ] , [ twelfth ] . He recounts their actions in his second book, devoted to the years 1990-2010 [ 15 ] .
