The Shastina is a mountain in the United States located in California. It is one of the volcanic cones of Mont Shasta.
Shastina is located in the western United States, in northern California, in the County of Siskiyou [ 3 ] . It is a mountain located on the western flank of Mont Shasta [ 3 ] . These two summits are of volcanic origin, the Shastina constituting one of the volcanic cones of Mont Shasta [ 4 ] , [ 3 ] .
Shastina culminates at 3,758 meters above sea level [ 3 ] , [ 2 ] . Its summit consists of an iron -shaped crater open to the west and extending by a valley in the side of the mountain [ 3 ] . The summit of Shastina is only 2.38 kilometers away as the crow flies from the summit of Mont Shasta located to the east [ 3 ] . The collar separating the two peaks is at 3,621 meters above sea level, giving Shastina a prominence of only 137 meters [ 3 ] .
Shastina began to train at the start of the Holocene, about 10,000 years ago [ 4 ] . He produced fiery clouds and lahars during his various eruptions, the last of which occurred on an unknown date [ 4 ] .
