Julio Walter Montero Castillo (born the In Montevideo in Uruguay) is a Uruguayan international football player, who was playing at the midfield.

His son, Paolo, was also a footballer.

With the Nacional club, he won three international titles: a Libertadores COPA, an intercontinental cup and finally a COPA Interamericana.

With the Uruguay team, he played 43 games (for a scored goal) between 1967 and 1978 [ first ] .

He appeared in the group of selected during the World Cups in 1970 and 1974. During the 1970 World Cup organized in Mexico, he was indisputable and played six games.
