Fronton (Valencian ball) – Wikipedia

The front ( pediment in Valencien) is one of the eight game methods of the Valencian ball. It consists of bouncing the ball on a wall, it is an indirect style modality.

The Valencian pediment presents a rectangular play area with three walls:

• The Frontis , is a wall in front of which the players place themselves and send the ball to make it bounce. A horizontal line is drawn 90 cm high to indicate the level below which the ball should not touch.

• The Wall is a 25 -meter wall located to the left of Frontis . Vertical lines numbered from one to ten are marked there. They are used to place players and to indicate the line of fault and the pass line ^{[ first ]} .

• The bounce is the third wall located at the corner of the Wall and in front of the Frontis . It is the big difference with the Basque ball. It allows the ball to bounce with force and gives liveliness to the game.

The public is required to stay at a minimum security distance on the fourth side. This one is called the countercanx . Spectators generally have stands or even seats and are completely separated from players.

We play in the Valencian pediment with TEC’s balls. These are white balls made of goat skin. They are harder and heavier than oceans , make sheepskin, and larger than heifers , do in cow leather. They weigh between 45 and 50 gr and their diameter varies between 38 and 40 mm.

The pelotaris play on the same track against each other or two teams of two against each other. One team is dressed in blue and the other in red, a favorite color of players because supposed to give more strength.

Due to the influence of the Basque ball, it is now common to count the points in 22. However, the Valencian ball federation continues to play its tournaments according to the traditional Valencian rules:
