Aleksandr aleksandrovič skvorcov (In Russian: александр алексаннnterto скворцов; Ščëlkovo, 6 May 1966) is a cosmonaut, aviator and Russian officer.

The father, Alexander Skvorcov, is a former cosmonaut selected in 1965 but who has never flown into space. He is married to Elena Grigor’evna Skvorcova (Krasnikova) and have a daughter (Anna, 1990). In his spare time he likes to dive, play football and badminton, hunt, fish and travel.

He graduated in the Nº2 high school in the city of Moršansk, in the Oblast ‘in Tamovov, in 1983, and then graduated from the military aviation school for pilots and Stavropol navigators’ like pilot-engineer In 1987. On July 28, 1997 he was selected as a Cosmonaut candidate of the TSPK 12 group of the GCTC. On June 2, 2010, at the release of the Sojuz Tma-17 with the station he became the commander of the ISS, a role he held for almost four months. His return to the ground was scheduled for September 24, after 175 days in space but was postponed by one day for problems in the mouthpiece of the Poisk module. On September 25, 2010 he landed with his crew in the Kazakhstan steppes 35 km south-east from the city of Arkalyk.

On March 5, 2014 he completed the GCTC final exams with colleagues Oleg Artem’ev and Steven Swanson. He left for his second mission on March 26, 2014 as the commander of the Sojuz Tma-12m and flight engineer for the Expedition 39/40 aboard the ISS, to which he attracted two days later.
