The memories of a first permit to conduct are dated to the end of the nineteenth century. In France, in 1883, Léon Serpollet, industrial and French car pioneer founder of the “Serpollet and Co brothers”, built the first steam tricycle but to be able to lead it he had to wait for an authorization. In 1888, in Prussia, a permit was issued to lead to the best known Karl Benz, considered the inventor of the car.

The first steps of Italy towards the introduction of a driving license was in 1901, with the ” Regulation for the circulation of cars on ordinary roads “, Contained in the Royal Decree of 28 July 1901 n.416, a sort of a current decree law issued by the king [2] . This regulation contained articles that regulated road traffic and provided for a license that was requested from the prefect and was issued if certain requirements were held. Physically, the permit, presented itself in the form of a booklet with photos, signature and a space for the annotations. The first Italian to whom the “license” was released was Bartolomeo Tonietto, the Turin driver of the Savoy house, the first chaupuffeur of Italy. The subsequent royal decree of 08 January 1905 n. 24, “ Regulation for the circulation of cars on ordinary roads “Further expanded the regulations regarding the road traffic of vehicles

Hence more than a century of evolution who, through the issue of laws and decrees, created the highway code and brought the license to the present day.

License renewal [ change | Modifica Wikitesto ]

The license renewal service is aimed at all driving license holders, which, as is known, have regular deadlines. The A and B licenses, for example, must be renewed every 10 years up to the fiftieth year of age: from that point on the intervals become more and more short, up to the renewal of the two -year license for the ultra eighties [first] .

License review [ change | Modifica Wikitesto ]

The revision of the driving license is arranged when doubts arise relating to the presence of the necessary physical and mental requirements to safely drive a vehicle on public roads, as well as when the owner loses all the points of the license. In some specific cases, a medical examination is mandatory. In other cases, the revision of the license consists instead in rediscovering the exams for the license, both the theoretical and the practical test: in this case the physical and mental requirements are not verified, as well as the technical ones. This happens when a driver exhausts all the points of his license or how much in 12 months he commits three violations of at least 5 points each. The theoretical review of revision for the B driving license consists of a test with 30 quiz questions lasting 30 minutes, with a maximum of 3 permitted errors.

Duplicated for foreign conversion [ change | Modifica Wikitesto ]

The conversion of a foreign license provides for the replacement of the driving document with an Italian one [7] .

Point recovery courses [ change | Modifica Wikitesto ]

The license recovery service is prepared for all those people who, due to road infringements, find themselves seeing their score on the driving license dangerously decreased. With the introduction of the points license, in fact, once you have concretely lowered your score background, you risk meeting the license review. At the end of the course for the recovery of the points there is no examination: the only frequency of the lessons, in fact, is sufficient.
