He is a professor at the Cornell University, where he holds the chair of Professor of History and Classics And where the local history department principals. Barry Strauss was born in New York City and has always grown up in his hometown and his surroundings. He established his residence at Cornell University in the city of Ithaca where he lives, with his wife and two children. He first studied in Cornell, where he received the Bachelor of Arts and the Master of Arts, then to Yale, where he achieved the degree of Doctor of Philosophy under the supervision of Donald Kagan.
