This page presents the eighteenth edition of the Belgian promotion championship (D3).

This 1946-1947 season is that of the “great dilapidation”. The Belgian Federation, which had reformed its national series by canceling the relegations suffered during the three “war championships” ( 41-42, 42-43, 43-44 ), decides to bring all the chickens from the D1 to the D3 to 16 formations.

In view of the following season, the “promotion” is reduced to 64 participants (4 x 16). Due to the 9 descendants coming from 2 It is level, no less than 23 teams are relegated to 3 It is level, at the end of this competition. With this scenario, 8 of the 12 promoted people go to the hatch.

70 clubs take part in this competition. It is 3 less than during the previous championship. Clubs whose number is indicated in bold still exist during the 2012-2013 season .

  • The SK Roeselare is crowned champion because, according to the regulations in force at the time, it conceded less defeats ( 5 ) that the Mouscronnois stadium ( 7 ). Nowadays, Mouscron would be titled ( larger number of victories ).

Nine clubs are doing their national series debut:

At the end of this season, nine teams have been relegated from division 1 (D2): Cappellen FC KMR. CS Hallois, R. Union Hutoise FC, Racing FC Lokeren, K. SC Menen, AS Oostende KM, VV Oude God Sport, CS Schaerbeek and Vilvorde FC.

The four champions ( FC Winterslag, R. Gosselies Sports, R. FC Bressoux and SK Roeselare ) go up in division 1 (D2).
