Central Party (Sweden) – Wikipedia
From Wikipedia, Liberade Libera.
The Center party (in Swedish Center Party , simply abbreviated with C ) is a Swedish political party.
The Centerrpartiet is an “eco-humanist” social-liberal party and center-like party founded in 1913 by the split of the agricultural left of the liberal popular party. It is therefore a party of the tradition of the “agricultural-centerists” parties of Sweden.
The party was founded with the name of The Farmer’s Association (League of farmers), ruralist. In fact, the party was born as a defender of the instances of the rural and agricultural world. The name was changed to Center Party in 1957. La League of farmers It was the most faithful ally of the Social Democratic Party, with which he had been to the government between 1936 and 1945 and between 1951 and 1957, contributing to the creation of welfare policies.
Since 1957, however, the party, changing the name in Center Party , chose the alliance with the “bourgeois” and “non-socialist” parties. The party was thus again in the government from 1976 to 1982 and from 1991 to 1994. In 1976, Thorbjörn Fälldin, head of the party, was elected prime minister.
He adheres to the Alde and his MEPs are enrolled in the group of the same name.
To the 2006 policies the CP presented itself with a moderate coalition, the Alliance for Sweden (Moderate party, liberal popular party, Christian Democrats), as an alternative to the Social Democratic Party. The electoral result smiled at the centrists, who passed from 6.2% to 7.9%, from 22 to 29 seats. In this way the party became the third of the political landscape, after social democrats and moderate, exceeding the liberal allies, which descended from 13.3% to 7.5%. The centrists became part of the government led by the moderate Fredrik Reinfeldt. In the 2010 elections, the centrists went down under 7% (6.6%), obtaining 23 seats and being also exceeded by popular liberals and green, as well as moderate and social democrats. The Alliance for Sweden obtained 173 seats out of 349 and the Reinfeldt government remained in office thanks to the abstention of the radical right of the Swedish Democrats [first] . [2]
