Childrens Hospital — Wikipedia

Childrens Hospital is a satirical American television series that is mourning the genre of the medical dramatic series, created by actor Rob Corddry. The series was initially broadcast on the web in December 2008 in the form of ten episodes of about 5 minutes. The rights were bought by Adult Swim In 2009, the format increased to approximately 11 minutes, and these new episodes were broadcast from the July 11, 2010 .

In France, it was broadcast from the September 2, 2012 on MCM. It remains unprecedented in other French -speaking countries.

• Rob Corddry : D ^r Blake Downs, a clown doctor who is generally not laughing at his patients and who is poorly considered by the rest of the staff. Rob Corddry also plays the interpreter of his character in false documentaries, Cutter Spindell (until his death), then Rory Spindell.
• Megan Mullally: Chief, the staff chief, heavily disabled and of Native American origin. Despite its repulsive physical appearance, it is often found attractive by the male staff of the hospital. Chief is < > by Lady Jane Bentick-Smith, an English actress of theater.
• Ken Marino: D ^r Glenn Richie, a practicing Jewish surgeon (he wears a kippah even in the intervention room) and very sure of him. Although AMBERBE in the series, his character is theoretically interpreted by Just Falcon, who is bearded and shaggy like Joaquin Phoenix at the time of I’m Still Here .
• Erinn Hayes (in) : D ^r Lola Spratt, the first woman to have been a doctor at Childrens Hospital. She is often at the center of romantic intrigue with her colleagues, the D ^r Richie and the D ^r Maestro. She stages her false death from a brain tumor at the end of season 1, because she was overwhelmed by the number of unrelated messages in her mailbox. Then she leaves Childrens Hospital in the middle of season 5 after recruiting to be part of a commando of imitators in the American army.
• Rob Huebel  (in) : D ^r Owen Maestro, a childish and gullible surgeon, who was a police inspector until September 11th . His interpreter, Rob Heubel or Rob Huebel (depending on the episodes), is mustachio, wears a scarf when he is not in costume and has the habit of throwing glitter.
• Lake Bell : D ^r Cat Black, the narrator of the series during the first season. She died in layers at the start of the second season but returned, having then lost her medical knowledge, during the final. She then returned to hospital staff.
• Malin Åkerman (season 2 – today): D ^r Valerie Flame, of Swedish origin, the replacement for Cat Black and narrator of the second season. During the final of this season, she reveals that she is in fact a man, the hidden son of the D ^r Arthur Childrens, Derrick Childrens, in a parody of the Tootsie outcome. Subsequently, she is generally considered a woman, her true nature being mentioned only episodically. Valerie Flame is interpreted by Ingrid Hagerstown, a Swedish actress who does not speak English and who learns her replicas in phonetics.
• Henry Winkler (season 2 – today): Sy Mittleman, the hospital administrator. He is despised by doctors because of his lack of authority, despite some access to authoritarianism. Sy Mittleman is interpreted by Fred Nunley, a veteran of American television who generally joins series about to be canceled.
• Zandy Hartig (season 5, previously recurring role): Dori, a nurse returned to Childrens Hospital after being the mother of a patient. She is pregnant during season 3. The father of her child turns out to be Blake Downs, who had a brief bond with her.
• Brian Huskey  (in) (Season 5, previously recurring role): Chet, an ambulancer with fairly disturbing hobbies who feeds an obsession with Chief.

From season 3, the distribution of an episode no longer includes all the main roles.

• Michael Cera (season 1 – Today): Sal Viscuso, an employee of the hospital who performs announcements in the sound system, generally disconnected from intrigue, and who never appears to the image. His name is a tribute to the actor Sal Viscuso who was making the announcements in the series MASH .
• Nick Offerman (season 1 – Today): a police officer, former teammate of Owen Maestro, who seeks to make him reintegrate the police and whose path occasionally crosses the hospital for investigations.
• Jon Hamm (season 2 – today): Derrick Childrens, the hidden son of the D ^r Arthur Childrens and the true identity of Valerie Flame. Jon Hamm also plays Arthur Childrens in flashbacks.
• Jordan Peele (season 2, 3 and 5): D ^r Brian, an African-American and bisexual doctor who has an episodic relationship with Lola Spratt. He became chief of an American army commando specializing in imitations.
• David Wain (Season 2, 3 and 5): Jewy McJewjew, a rabbi whose name can be noted the Jewishness and chaplain of the hospital. He is the rival in love of Glenn Richie, with whom he had taken religion lessons. David Wain also plays his own role in the false documentaries, that of director and co-series of the series.
• Mather Zickel  (in) (season 2, 3 and 4): Louis Lafonda, the presenter of Newsreaders , a report of reports, several episodes of which have brought behind the scenes of Childrens Hospital . Adult swim produced in 2013 a series named name Newsreaders , where Zickel resumes his role.

The series is focused on staff in Childrens Hospital , founded by the D ^r Arthur Childrens, a pediatric clinic. Initially, the intrigue parody those of medical soap operators as Emergency room , Dr House And Grey’s Anatomy But very quickly, an absurd tone took over.
