The CS Minaur Baia Mare is a female handball club based in Baia Mare in Romania [ first ] and founded in 2015. It takes over from the Handball Club Municipal Baia Mare (or HCM Baia Mare ), created in 1960 and forced to file for bankruptcy in 2016.

After having evolved in the lower divisions, the club accesses for the first time in the Romanian championship in 1975 but was however relegated from its first season. In 1978, the club reached the final of the Romanian Cup and again reached the Romanian elite. The progression is dazzling since Baia Mare finished second in the championship in 1979 and again reached the final of the Romanian Cup in 1980.

However, these results last long since the club falls quickly into the hierarchy and was relegated to the second division in 1982.
