The Department of Health and Social Protection (in English Department of Health and Social Care , DSC ) is a ministerial executive department of the government of the United Kingdom responsible for health.
The Department of Health – then called Department of Health (DH) – was created in 1988, by the “order transfer order” ( Transfer of Functions Order ) the l’ancien dhsss ( Department of Health and Social Security ) which was then split in two (subsequently, the Social Security Department will be dissolved in 2001 and previously the Department of Labor and Pensions).
In 2018, after the ministerial reshuffle of the British cabinet, it was renamed in the Department of Health and Social Protection (DDC).
He is responsible for the governance of National Health Service (NHS).
The Department of Health and Social Protection act as a steward and oversees 15 independent administrative authorities.
