At the end of June 2017, the prefect of the Ardennes signed the unique authorization for the Mont-des-Quatre-Faux wind farm project, located between Charleville-M\u00e9zi\u00e8res and \u00c9pernay. Carried by EDF in association with the Belgian developer Windvision, it will eventually include 63 wind turbines from 3.5 to 5 MW of power each [ 37 ] . In December 2017, EDF announced a strengthening of its wind and solar establishment in Occitanie, with 120 MW of projects to build on 2018 and 2019, as well as 500 MW of Development Projects [ 42 ] . On June 20, 2018, EDF announced the commissioning of the Belfays wind farm in the Grand Est region, with an installed capacity of 20 MW. It is made up of 10 wind turbines of 2 MW of unitary power [ 43 ] . In September 2019, the company inaugurated a solar power plant on the site of the old Aramon thermal power station [ 44 ] . The July 13, 2017 , EDF Energy Renewables announces the acquisition of the Partnerships for Renewables of eleven Developing Wind Parks Located Scottish Partnership Projects located in Scotland [ 54 ] . EDF Energy Renewables operated in 2017 319 MW installed capacity and has more than 1 GW of developing projects in Scotland [Ref. necessary] . In May 2018, EDF Energies Nouvelles acquired Scotland from the Neart Na Gaoithe wind farm project from the mainstream renewable power company, after a competitive process. Americas [ modifier | Modifier and code ] South America [ modifier | Modifier and code ] Brazil [ modifier | Modifier and code ] In June 2017, EDF announced the acquisition of 80% of a photovoltaic power plant project of 115 megawatts in Brazil (Pirapora II), from the company Canadian Solar, which follows a similar acquisition in 2016 in the Pirapora project [ 57 ] . On August 10, 2017, EDF EN and Canadian Solar announced the conclusion of a partnership concerning the sale by Canadian Solar of 80% of the Pirapora III photovoltaic project (92.5 MWC) to EDF EN DO BRASIL, local subsidiary of EDF in . The project is currently in the construction phase and its commissioning is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2017. EDF EN DO Brasil is responsible for building and operating the project, and Canadian Solar produces the project modules within its factory established in Brazil [ 58 ] . In November 2017, two of the three phases of the Pirapora project with a cumulative power of 284 MWC entered operation. The full commissioning of Pirapora is scheduled for the second half of 2018 [ 59 ] . In April 2018, EDF announced that it has won a long -term electricity supply contract (PPA) in Brazil as part of a federal bid, for a wind project with a capacity of 114 MW in the state of Bahia [ 60 ] . Following another federal bid at the end of August 2018, Edn won two other wind projects in this state, which constitute an extension of existing wind farms: the first adds 147 MW to the 114 MW (Folha Larga) park allocated in April, and the Second adds 129 MW to a park of 183 MW (Bahia Ventos), which should be put into service in the following weeks [ sixty one ] . At the end of November 2018, EDF renewable in Brazil announced the signing of a long -term electricity sales contract with Braskem. Electricity will be produced by a new EDF Renewable EDF wind project, with an installed capacity of 33 MW and whose construction will start in 2019 in the State of Bahia [ 62 ] . Chili [ modifier | Modifier and code ] In 2015, EDF in investing for the first time in Chile with a photovoltaic power plant project in the north of the country, in the Atacama desert.
