The Fed Cup 1999 is here 37 It is Edition of the most important tennis tournament between national female teams.
The final, which was held in Stanford on September 18 and 19, sees the United States winning against Russia (four points to one) [ first ] .
The Play-Offs system of the organization since 1995 is modified for this 37 It is Edition of the Fed Cup. The Plays-Offs I are deleted and all the play-offs II meetings take place in Amsterdam (in the Netherlands) according to the “Round Robin” method with two hens and a final.
The World Group I still has eight teams who compete by direct elimination in three laps (April, July and September) but the eight teams are guaranteed to stay in the Group I for the 2000 competition.
The World Group II still has eight teams, but the winners of the four games are directly qualified for World Group I from the 2000 competition. The losers play the play-offs II.
The meetings of the world groups I and II are played at the best of the five games, four single and a double, organized at the home of one or the other of the teams who, over a weekend, meet face-to-face face. The Plays-Offs II meetings are played at the best of the three games, two single and a double.

The World Group I has eight teams, the four semi-finalists of the previous edition (heads of standard) and the four from Play-offs I from the previous year.
The eight teams remain in the World I group for the 2000 competition.

The World Group II has eight teams, the four defeated players in the previous year and the four victorious play-offs II the previous year.
Opposed one by one, the victorious teams joined the World Group I for the following year and the defeated teams competed in the Plays-Offs II.

Play-offs II [ modifier | Modifier and code ]
All meetings of Play-offs II 1999 are organized outdoors on a hard surface at the Amsterdam University Sports Center in the Netherlands from July 21 to 24.
The eight participating teams, four eliminated from the World II group and four from the groups by geographic areas are divided into two pools and compete according to the “Round Robin” method.
The winners of each hen compete in the final and only the winner of this final, Australia, joined the Group World I in 2000. All the other teams are relegated to competitions by geographic areas.
