Specialist in American comics (particularly that of science fiction), he introduced many authors to the French-speaking public in Europe in the 1970s and 1980s, from Berni Wrightson to Neal Adams via Richard Corben [ first ] . (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});after-content-x4Born in India, Bharucha leaves his country to pursue higher education in graphic art in England. After a stay in Canada, he began his professional career in India as artistic director in an advertising agency [ 2 ] . Arrived in France in 1971, he became friends with Jean-Pierre Dionnet and began to gravitate in the Parisian community of comics. In 1973, he published, as a designer and author, some plates in Pilot in France and Bizarre Sex Comics in the USA. In 1974, he was mandated by Dionnet, who has just founded Screaming metal , to find in the United States new plates in France [ 2 ] . Back in Paris after two months, he brings back more than 300 plates, but Dionnet no longer needs it. Bharucha then offers Nikita Mandryka, who remained alone at the controls of the cheese editions, to launch a quarterly special issue of The Echo of the Savannahs devoted to American comics. The first issue of The USA special savannah echo appeared at the end of 1976, the success was immediate. This review makes Will Eisner, Mark Schultz, Rand Holmes, Shary Flenniken, Berni Wrightson, Wallace Wood, Jeff Jones and Richard Corben in France [ 3 ] . In parallel with the review, Bharucha co-founded in 1978 with the editions of the cheese a new publishing house, Les \u00c9ditions du Triton, which launches two reviews Vampirella And Creepy Before devoting yourself to the publication of albums [ 4 ] . In 1981, faced with the difficulties encountered by the cheese editions, Bharucha put an end to the Triton and joined forces with \u00c9tienne Robial, with whom he collaborated on the “Copyright” collection of Futuropolis, to continue the publication of horror comics and horror comics and horror comics and horror comics and horror comics de Fantasy within Icarus editions [ 5 ] .
