She worked intermittently from 1831 to 1983, the year she was dismantled. His name was initially Invectie . Production began in 1837 and, in 1873, a brasserie came to take over from whiskey manufacturing [ 2 ] . In 1884, Simon Forbes bought the establishment which worked well until 1915. The activity was suspended during the First World War. After a brief period of activity and 1923 and 1924, under the name of Glenugie Distillery Ltd The distillery closed again from 1925. Seager Evans & Co Ltd revived the activity in 1937. When Scheney International acquired Seager Evans & Co Ltd In 1956, it was decided to refocus on the production of whiskey and the facilities were modernized. An oil heating replaced the coal that and two new stills were also installed, which allowed a doubling of production [ 3 ] . The Maltage activity disappeared then, the liberated space being converted into a storage zone. In 1970, the company Long John International bought the distillery, before being absorbed by Whitbread & Co Ltd [ 2 ] . It was closed in 1983, like a dozen others who went bankrupt this same year [ 3 ] . The installations were dismantled, and the land was bought by the Score Group plc , who built his workshops there. Whiskey has never been sold in the form of an officially malt [ 5 ] , [ 2 ] . The only available bottles were marketed by independent traffic jams. The first known bottles are two 1959 Cadenheads [ 6 ] . The single malt produced by the Glenugie distillery is often rustic, almost medicinal [ 7 ] .
