Career [ modifier | Modifier and code ]

Glee’s original idea is inspired by Brennan’s personal experience when he was in the choir of Prospect High School. In 2005, a choirman’s choir of Prospect High School was accused of inappropriate driving with regard to a student, and later was found guilty of aggravated crime of sexual abuse. Brennan was inspired by these events. In , he bought a copy of “writing scenarios for dummies” and wrote Glee’s first draft, initially envisaged as a film rather than a television series. He finished the script in 2005, but did not interest any producer of the time. One of his friends, television producer Mike Novick, was a member of the same gymnasium as the screenwriter and producer Ryan Murphy, who was part of a choir in his childhood and gave him a copy of the script of Brennan. The latter felt concerned by the project and decided with Brad Falchuk to produce it as a TV series. The three (Murphy, Brennan and Falchuk) met to rewrite the scenario, which was sent to the American channel CFOX which immediately accepted it 3 p.m. after receiving it. Murphy, Ryan and Falchuk decided to write all the episodes themselves. Murphy and Falchuk are the executive directors and producers of the series, while Brennan is executive co -producer.
