He studied primary school and commercial lesson in Hull [ 3 ] . In 1936, Georges-Henri L\u00e9vesque invited him to the Dominican monastery in Ottawa; He installs his studio there and produced a wall for the chapel. In 1938, he attended the Montreal Fine Arts School for six months. He married Marie-Th\u00e9r\u00e8se Ayotte d’Ottawa. He receives a Quebec government scholarship to go to work in Paris with Maurice Denis and Andr\u00e9 Lhote; Then he has his workshop on rue de Vaugirard. In 1940, during the Second World War, he was taken prisoner for the Germans for four years. In prison, he studied drawing and Italian [ 2 ] . In 1944, he initiated the tapestry techniques. Then, he worked in Ottawa for the Canada National Film Office until 1957. In 1957, he moved to Montreal. In 1959, he returned to France, in Paris and then in Vence [ 4 ] . Dallaire was an admirer of the work of Alfred Pellan.
