THE Lacertidae or Lacertidae are a family of saurians, commonly known as lizards. It was created by Nicolaus Michael Oppel in 1811.

The species of this family meet in Africa, Asia and Europe.

There are about 310 current Lacertidae species, they are all daytime, active and agile animals. They generally measure up to 20 cm From the museum to the cesspool.

One of the most common is the wall lizard ( Podarcis muralis ), a small brown lacertid of temperate Europe (northern limit: Belgium, Netherlands; common to Romania). It is a climbing species and it is the one that is the most familiar near the dwellings. Three -quarters of European lizards are lacertidae.
