Marcel Lessard (born the ) is a counterman and federal politician of Quebec.
Born in Alma in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region, Mr. Lessard became a deputy for social credit in the federal district of Lac-Saint-Jean in 1962 [ first ] . Re -elected in 1963, he did not join the majority of Quebec creditist deputies who joined Réal Caouette and a creditor rally to associate with the Albertaine Social Credit base which was led by Robert N. Thompson. During the debate on the Canada flag in 1964, he was a member of the committee recommending the adoption of the current unifolié.
Defeated as an independent candidate in 1965, he returned as a deputy for the Liberal Party of Canada in 1968. Re -elected in 1972, 1974 and in 1979, he did not represent himself in 1980. As a liberal deputy, he was parliamentary secretary of the Minister of Agriculture from 1970 to 1972 as well as Minister of Regional Economic Expansion from 1975 to 1979.
